Dr. Jia Li (Dr. J)
Hi! My name is Jia Li. There are glass half empty and glass half full people. I am just happy I have a glass to fill. I am the son of two hard-working Chinese immigrants who sacrificed everything so I can fulfill my life’s mission. That mission is to help my fellow humans achieve a pain free body so they can live the life they always envisioned.
As a physical therapist who worked in a traditional clinic, I witnessed the current healthcare system consistently fail people with chronic back pain. People are rushed into unnecessary MRIs, unnecessary shots, and even surgery. Traditional PT clinics are seeing 3-4 people at a time and handing out generic "PT" exercises that don't work. Chiropractors are scheduling folks to see them twice a week for eternity to get their spine "back in place," which the evidence doesn't support. If you fell into this trap, you are not alone.
From years of working in manual labor, my own mother developed chronic back pain. She failed multiple approaches from traditional PT, chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, and even got a cortisone shot. I watched her cry herself to sleep, going from one appointment to the next with no relief. Determined to help, I set out on a quest for answers. I realized that the materials taught in graduate school were not adequate to help people create permanent changes. The old model relied heavily on looking at one body part at a time and examining its function in isolation. These insights were made from observing cadavers (dead bodies). A living, breathing human body is much more complex. My quest to solve my mom’s back pain would forever change the way I work with the human body. Here is what I uncovered.
Every part of a living body is interconnected like the intricate insides of an analog clock. This is why changing your foot position can affect how your back feels. A living body also has an active nervous system. The nervous system allows you to move freely without conscious thought. When it is not working well, you may be stuck trying to do everything with “perfect form” for tasks that shouldn’t require conscious thought such as sitting, walking, reaching and pulling. It can make simply living feel like a full-time job!
Luckily, there is a way to change all of this. I took all the discoveries and created a treatment approach. I used this approach to design the PX Remote Coaching Program in 2020 at the height of the pandemic. It is a 100% digital service that helped many people who failed traditional therapy methods get results they once thought was impossible. While the company did very well online, I missed the opportunity to interact with my fellow humans face to face. In the summer of 2022, I made a big decision.
I decided to build a team to expand PhyziX’s mission and to build a physical location in Needham, Massachusetts! We also expanded our treatment approach to not just treat back pain, but also to treat injuries to the neck, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles. We are now serving our clients both digitally and in person! If you are local to the Needham area and would like to check out our space or learn more about what we do, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Dr. Brandon Drinan
Hi, I'm Brandon Drinan, and my journey into physical therapy started with a personal quest to transform my body and build strength. Growing up as a "husky" kid, my parents gifted me a home gym, and from that point on, I dedicated myself to becoming stronger. That passion for strength training and human movement has stayed with me ever since.
My interest grew through high school, thanks to an inspiring physical education teacher who introduced me to the world of strength and conditioning. I knew then that I wanted a career helping people reach their physical potential. After earning my bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from UMASS Amherst, I worked as a personal trainer, developing strong relationships with clients and helping them on their fitness journeys. But I often felt limited when clients faced pain or injuries that I couldn’t fully address. That’s when I knew I needed to expand my skill set.
This led me to pursue my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of New England. After graduation, I started working in a traditional insurance-based clinic, where I quickly saw the limitations of the system. Patients in pain were often denied care or rushed through treatment. I knew there had to be a better way to serve them, one that focused on the root cause of their issues rather than just their symptoms.
That’s what brought me to PhyziX. Here, we take a holistic approach that looks at the whole person, not just their pain. By using a neurological-based approach, we can uncover the true source of a problem and create long-lasting results. The care we provide is something everyone deserves, and I'm proud to be part of a team that offers this transformative experience.
If you've tried traditional physical therapy and haven't found the relief you're looking for, let’s work together to find a better solution. You don’t have to live in pain. Contact me at brandon@phyzixpt.com and I’ll be happy to listen to your story and see how we might be able to help!

Dr. Adrian Gonzalez
In 2011, my father suffered a stroke. He is the hardest working person I know, and watching him struggle to hold a cup of coffee turned my world upside down. I wanted to help, but I just felt hopeless. However, witnessing his physical therapy team work diligently with him allowed him to regain full function. That was when I knew I wanted a career in physical rehabilitation.
My passion eventually led me to become an Athletic Trainer, and I proudly joined the esteemed Baltimore Orioles Organization. While working with professional athletes was a dream for many, I felt a void. Though I cherished the experience, I wanted to create a bigger impact. I knew I could do more, but the nature of the athletic training career simply didn't allow for it.
The next logical step was to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I thought that would fill my void, but I was left with a familiar feeling. Through firsthand experiences in conventional insurance-based clinics, I felt a similar sense of not being able to create the type of impact I had hoped for. There was an overemphasis on symptom management instead of addressing the underlying root cause. There was no emphasis on the interconnected nature of the body and its influence on the recovery process. Each patient was categorized by their diagnosis instead of taking into consideration all the complexity that makes them unique. It is easy to understand why many people say, "physical therapy doesn't work." Meanwhile, I continued to search for a company that gives the attention each person deserves and practices therapy in a holistic way.
My search brought me to the doorstep of PhyziX, a visionary company that operates outside the confines of the traditional insurance-based model. Patients receive the type of one-on-one attention needed to resolve complex issues. There is a great emphasis on a whole-body approach where getting to the root cause of each patient's problem is actually possible! I watch patients make remarkable changes with each visit. The shift is remarkable. It renewed the same awe-inspiring feeling I had when I was witnessing my father's recovery.
If you've been struggling with pain and haven't achieved the results you had hoped for in your past rehabilitation journey, you may have become entangled in a broken system. I want you to be aware that there are better ways to approach your recovery. Don't hesitate to reach out to me directly at Adrian@phyzixpt.com, and I will personally arrange a call to better understand your situation and explore how we can offer assistance!

Dr. Brogan Walsh
My brother and I grew up on the soccer field.
From the time we were kids, that's where we existed together. Chasing the same ball, competing on the same teams, building the kind of bond that only happens when you share something you both love. So when he shattered his ankle in 2013, I didn't just watch him get hurt. I watched something we shared get taken away.
I remember watching him crutch along the sideline while his teammates ran drills without him. That image has never really left me.
What I saw in his recovery wasn't just a body healing. It was a person fighting to get back to himself. His confidence and his identity. Physical therapy, I realized, carries more weight than most people give it credit for. Done right, it gives people back something they didn't know how much they needed until it was gone.
That's the reason I do this work.
I've stayed active my whole life, playing soccer for years before eventually falling into golf. Golf pulled me in for the same reason the body does. It looks simple until you look closer. Then you realize everything has to work together, and when one thing is off, you feel it everywhere. I got my TPI certification because working with golfers is just another version of the same puzzle: find what the body is doing, find what it isn't, and help the system move the way it was meant to.
In 2021, I ran my own practice. What that time gave me was space to slow down and actually hear what was really going on. Not just the pain, but what the pain was costing people. That experience deepened what I already believed. When you treat the whole person and not just the where it hurts, people don't just recover. They come back.
That's why PhyziX PT felt right. The approach here looks at the nervous system, at movement patterns, at how everything connects. We don't chase symptoms. We find what's actually getting in the way.
The goal has always been the same, whether it's my brother on the sideline or you sitting across from me on day one. Help you feel like yourself again. Or better than you have in a long time.

Dr. Sheli Dubovsky
Hi, I'm Sheli.
I'm five foot two, hypermobile, and have spent my whole life being underestimated.
Russian was my first language, so I spent years in ESL classes and racked up hundreds of hours of tutoring just to keep up.
My joints were so flexible that I was always the last pick for sports. But I came from a family that did not accept weakness, so I went and proved everyone wrong: straight A's, and eventually competitive dancing.
Then I turned fourteen, and everything changed. My right hip popped out of its socket for the first time. That is not supposed to happen. From there, the pain started moving from one place on my body to another. That is the side of being flexible that nobody talks about.
The only thing that kept me functional was learning to correct my own imbalances and building a structured strength routine to hold everything stable. That process eventually led me to fitness modeling, and my passion for movement and the body kept growing from there.
Years later, while studying for my doctoral degree, I went deep into researching hypermobility. I learned how many people live with it, especially women, and how little research exists to help them. So many people with hypermobility and chronic pain are left without real answers.
The deeper I looked, the more I found a striking connection between hypermobility and pelvic floor dysfunction in women. Address one, and you help the other. The similarities are consistent even when considering the pregnant and postpartum population.
Pregnancy and postpartum both raise estrogen and progesterone, which loosens ligaments and tendons and reduces joint stability. Mine have been loose since birth. Hypermobility and motherhood are different worlds, but the people living through them have something in common, they deserve better answers than they are getting.
The body never works in isolation. Everything is connected, and if you want to actually resolve chronic pain, you have to treat it that way.
That is what drew me to PhyziX. Their holistic approach felt like a breath of fresh air, built on the belief that every part of the body affects every other part, and that is how you find the true root cause of pain.
Too often, healthcare providers are only trained to see one piece of the picture. I bring that same connect the dots approach to every person I work with.
Whether you are dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction, hypermobility, or chronic low back pain, hip pain, or another injury that has not fully resolved, reach out and let's find out how we can help.
